  • Infinite Crisis has shut down.

With its departure, Dawnbase will be going into permanent read-only mode and will remain as both an archive of information about Infinite Crisis, and a reminder of the times we all had with the game.

Hats off to you all. It was a pleasure, ladies and gentlemen.

I am new to the guide building world so bear with me.

The goal of this guide is to create an Ivy build that can sustain the top lane with Support from the jungle.

    Starting Items

Open by purchasing the complete series of Modular Health Vials (Tier 3). This will give you an emergency health boost in a pinch, helping you to sustain the lane.

Next you will want to build a Nil Ring. "Now Static, why a Nil Ring?" , you say to the computer. Well for early engagements, the nil ring gives you a decided advantage. The combination of Health, Will Regeneration and Power Damage will help you stay in lane longer and take out more drones and level a bit more quickly. Don't get cocky though, remember you are playing a controller, so try not to dive too deep. Stay at or behind your side of the mid line. If you have jungle / lane support then dive with caution.

    Core Items

As the game progresses you should begin to build Atlantean Royal Seal. You are seeking the benefit of the Skill Harrier, to help slow enemies (Offensively this means they can't retreat as quickly, and defensively it means that you have a bit more time to escape.) Having each health is also not a bad thing.

As a Support your skills are tied to your will so you will want to start building either Abin Sur's Lantern or Qward Gambit. Personally, this is a choice that depends on your current situation. If you are being aggressive, I would start on Sur's Lantern first. The Aura will support any partner you may have with a will regen boost. Build up to level 3 to get the 10% Cooldown Reduction. If you are being more defensive or have a lane partner I would go for Qward (for its team supporting shield and the investment perk). The investment perk kicks in at level 2 so you can use it to your advantage while in lane to work on Atlantean Seal for more Power Damage.

Doctor Destiny's Dreamstone is not necessarily a most have core item but depending on how much will you are burning through and if you take Steel's Breast Plate as an item you will want to have this for its Will replacement capacity as well as the cooldown bonus.

    Offensive Items

"Offensive Items?", you say, "Static you have been talking almost exclusively about Offense!" Yes, dear reader, this is true. The items in this section are of particular importance. In a Power Damage build. The Cosmic Staff is a great power damage item, when maxed out it :

    + 70 Power Damage
    + 10 Cooldown Reduction

Disintegration: Dealing damage from skills applies an effect dealing 2% of the target's current Health each second as Power Damage for 4s. (Max 120 per second vs creatures and drones)

Wounding Skill: Targets of your skills are Wounded (healing and regeneration reduced by 50%) for 2s. Targets below 50% health are Wounded for 4s.

In the mid to late game this will help you and your teammates in a tense team fight to take down a champ or two. The additional Cooldown Reduction doesn't hurt either.

The Oa's Gambit provides both Power Damage and Power Armor to protect you, as a power damage champion the additional keyword that drains Power Armor from enemy champions can make a difference both in lane and in a team fight. Oa's Gambit also has investment at Level 2 and Investment Keywords DO NOT STACK so keep that in mind as you are building.

    Defensive Items

If you are getting pushed around you can start working on the Kryptonian War Armor (2) for its health regen and move speed boosts if the threat is from a Power Damage champion. Another good Defensive option is Phantom Strangers Necklace. This might sound like a weak item but look closely, it's armor scales based on the coins you have collected. So as long as you play conservative and don't die frequently you should be able to maintain a decent early defense. Consider building the Necklace up to level 2 around the same time you decide to build something like Qward or Oa's Gambit (which will be covered in the Offense Section).

    Situational Items

If you are faced with an attack damage champion you may want to consider using Suit of Sorrows instead. It provides you with Attack Armor (which protects you from their damage) and also it has the ability to reflect back some of the enemy's damage when it is completed. Mirror Master's Prism does the same thing except with Power Damage. Steel's Breastplate is another good choice. It adds Will to your pool, which is good for your support abilities, and it also provides you with Attack Armor. This piece works most effectively if you have been building more Will. Consider this item with Abin Sur's Lantern and Doctor Destiny's Dreamstone.

    Stolen Powers

Since no matter how much armor or health you load Ivy up with she will still be squishy, your powers will need to be evasion minded. For that reason I recommend, Super Speed (take your pick I personally like the Flash's) and Ivy's own Healing Wave. Invulnerability is an acceptable substitute, but I would caution its use because it can encourage more aggressive play than a controller can feasibly handle.

    The Wrap Up

Thank you for reading the guide. Your feedback is welcome. I have tested variation of this build but your playstyle may highlight a flaw I could not account for.
