  • Infinite Crisis has shut down.

With its departure, Dawnbase will be going into permanent read-only mode and will remain as both an archive of information about Infinite Crisis, and a reminder of the times we all had with the game.

Hats off to you all. It was a pleasure, ladies and gentlemen.

    Introduction:

Nothing fancy here, just a clean-cut explanation of a face-wrecking AD Gaslight Batman Gaslight Batman build.

The biggest thing to keep in mind with this build is that you will be soft early on, and if you've played Gaslight Batman much, you should already know that he's a consistently focused champion. You will want to utilize (and often sacrifice) your team to meat-shield you against the enemy. A slow start can cost you, but a solid mid-game can bring you back up.

    Abilities:

With this AD spec, [[Sonic Batarang]] and [[Echoes]] (Passive) become your primary skill foci. Make sure you have one rank in [[Echoes]] and one rank in [[Bat Flight]] by level 4, then max out [[Sonic Batarang]] until you gain your ultimate, [[Bat Scream]]. When engaging enemies, remember that [[Sonic Batarang]] will bounce. Because of this, you can utilize minion waves to help keep up damage against fleeing champions. In group fights, remember to prioritize (aim) at the squishiest champion on their team (or the biggest non-tank threat). Utilize your [[Bat Flight]] for repositioning away from the enemies to keep your allies between you and them. Because it relies more heavily on Power Damage, [[Sonic Shell]] is less of a focus, but used nonetheless. [[Sonic Shell]] will apply [[Echoes]] to the target, and does a small amount of damage that will help during the fight (but should be prioritized after [[Sonic Batarang]]).

Gaslight Batman has a pretty decent range, which can be a great asset fighting near an enemy-controlled turret. Basic attacks and [[Sonic Batarang]] are great poking tools until the enemy becomes foolish enough to step off the turret and try to take you face-to-face. If you've poked well, you can easily finish them off without having to escape. If they've a fair amount of health left, or you've been suffering during the match, this is a great time to use [[Bat Flight]] to put some distance between you and the enemy. This is also why I recommend one of the Speed powers. [[Bat Flight]] into [[Flash's Super Speed]] will get you out of the fray quite quickly and save you an unnecessary death.

    Stolen Powers:

As far as stolen powers go, I'm a Speed and Heal kind of guy with Gaslight Batman.

[[Flash's Super Speed]] is slightly faster than [[Atomic Wonder Woman's Super Speed]], but AWW's speed does some Attack Damage for four seconds to things you run through. The choice is your's on this one.

When it comes to Heal, [[Poison Ivy's Healing Wave]] will give you an offensive boost after use, while [[Arcane Green Lantern's Healing Wave]] will give you a defensive boost. Both are perfectly acceptable, but I tend toward offense over defense. [[Shazam's Invulnerability]] is also a viable option here, as it not only makes you immune to damage for 3 seconds, but also heals you for 25 damage. Again, this one is up to you, and which way you go here should really be dependent on your playstyle.

    Starter Items:

I default on Nil Weapon and Soultaker Katana (1) for this build. The combination provides a health, Attack Damage, Lifesteal, and Attack Syphon (essentially Lifesteal) -- all great for that early push.

    Core Items:

On your first trip back, Velocity 9 Implants (1) are a must, and I recommend [[Deathstroke's Claymore (1)]] if you can afford it. Outside of the obvious Attack Damage usefulness, the Attack Speed will help apply [[Echoes]] faster and boost your overall Attack Speed even more. Additionally, the Movement Speed boost can help you chase down near-death enemies before they can kite you across the map and into a well-placed deathtrap. Finish off Velocity 9 Implants (4), then Soultaker Katana (4), and round it out with [[Deathstroke's Claymore (2)]].

    Optional Items:

The next thing you should be noticing is that your enemy tanks are becoming a problem. How big a problem they're becoming will determine what your fourth item should be. If your enemy tanks are a pretty significant issue, your next item should be Atomic Axe (1) directly into Atomic Axe (2). If they're only a mild nuisance, go with the Coda Blade (1) and upgrade to Coda Blade (4) as quickly as possible. The Atomic Axe will punch through more tank armor, but if the struggle isn't too bad, the Coda Blade will give you more Attack Damage, still give you some penetration, and wound your enemies, causing their healing and regeneration to suffer for a short period.

Getting later into the game, your last two items should give you some more survivability and more murderous potential.

For survivability, choose between [[Lobo's Chain (4)]] and Claw Of Horus (3). Claw of Horus will going to provide you Attack Damage with some Attack Armor, more Lifesteal, and Attack Armor stealing, which can be very beneficial. Lobo's Chain, on the other hand, will give you Attack Damage with a fair amount of health, and basic attacks will slow your enemy for a brief time. Combine this slow with your increased movement speed, and your enemy isn't getting away. If your enemies are primarily Power Damage champions, Lobo's Chain is a no-brainer, but if you're going up against a team of primarily Attack Damage champions, Claw of Horus can be your saving grace.

Your last item will require you to finally sell your Nil Weapon. This decision should be weighed on how much damage you feel like you're doing. If your damage seems low, [[Joe Chill's Revolver (4)]] is great for its high Attack Damage, Critical Chance, and bonus Critical Damage. This is generally the item I will take. On some occasions, though, you just need to shoot faster to survive. For this, I take [[Cheetah's Claw (4)]] -- more Lifesteal, more Attack Speed, and a bonush push of Attack Speed and Movement Speed while under 50% health and taking damage.

Situationally, if your enemies are high AD and you're having too much trouble staying alive long enough to hit them, replace [[Joe Chill's Revolver (4)]] or [[Cheetah's Claw (4)]] with Suit Of Sorrows (4). This will provide you with some (or more, depending on which survivability item you took) Attack Armor, PLUS reflect back 30% of Attack Damage you take. Against high AD enemies, this means they're taking your damage AND 30% of their own damage dealt. It can be a game-changer if needed.
