  • Infinite Crisis has shut down.

With its departure, Dawnbase will be going into permanent read-only mode and will remain as both an archive of information about Infinite Crisis, and a reminder of the times we all had with the game.

Hats off to you all. It was a pleasure, ladies and gentlemen.

Hey Boys and Girls, today we are going to learn about a little thing I like to call...winning! Basically, if you aren't used to winning yet then playing this guy, with a solid build, will fix that. Will this secure your team a for sure win in a match, probably not..will it ensure you to have the best k/d/a of the match..yup! This will be an extensively long guide covering not one, not two, but all three maps; But Tram why all three?! Because you want to be a winner, that's why!

This guide will teach you not only how to tank with Mechie, the Loveable Death Machine, but also how to deal out some fun damage to make the other team rage! You're probably saying "but he is more of a support tank that is supposed to focus on helping his team", well I say to thee..no! You want a support tank? Go play ArcGL. If you want to roll with the big dogs and play a real Tank-Bruiser, sit down, shut up, and take notes kids. I will have you soloing any lane you want (drones, turrets, and champs all at once) by the end of this. I will have you making the other team rage so hard they will 5v1 you just so you can have a death on the board.

    Let's begin...

    Abilities -

Q: This is your Sir Lancelot skill. Not only will this skill do a great amount of damage, but it slows as well. What more could you ask for...other than a simple bleed from it. always, Always, Always  make sure you max this skill up first before any other. When you are in a GD match or even a CC this attack will still hit hard enough to let them know to back off. Once maxed and damage output is nice you will be hitting for at least one fourth of a marksmans health with this bad-boy. You are a Knight, Lance them!

W: This is your "surprise" Diglett skill. To be honest this is my least favorite skill of the 3 main ones, only because it's not a for sure hit unless you have them cornered or you are using it on drones. "But it makes small objects on the ground that explode and do knock-up!" Yeah, but what idiot champion is going to stand on top of one and wait for it to go off? Especially since you are most likely in the vicinity. It does more damage than Lancelot, but Lancie is a for sure hit. Once you have your damage set up, this guy is good to max.

E: This is your "Make 'em RAGE!" Wall-E(get it?) skill. You know that old saying stuck between a rock and a hard place? Let's rephrase it..now it's "Stuck between a giant wall and Mechie!" This is hands down my favorite skill, even more than the ult. No it doesn't do damage, but it sets you or your teammates up to just crush the poor souls that get caught by it. Yes, you can use this skill to save your life when needed, but more times than most you will be using this in a "you got a perty mouth, come 'ere" kind of way. Makes sure this is the second skill you max level. The cooldown and duration time is a lot in battle!

R: This is your Magic Bubble skill. Second only to the Wall of Rage. You trap some poor soul in a corner and pop this bad boy on them, you got one more kill on your list. Yes, they can get around you and run for it but then they run face first into a wall..that is if they can make it out of bubble range before they die!

Passive: So, umm, yeah I don't have a witty paragraph for the Passive just because I don't ever focus on it. I upgrade it last..remember earlier when I said we aren't a support-tank? Yeah if I told you to max this skill up then I would be a hypocrite, you don't want me to be a hypocrite do you? Just level the Passive end game for the extra armor for your squishy friends. If they rage at you for not being a supportive tank then Lance them into a corner and trap them with a wall, then finish the match yourself!

Now it is time for the nitty-gritty! Dawnbase gives Mechie a 70% difficulty on playability..the way I read that is, 70% difficulty for the enemy to survive when faced against you. Only reason it isn't 100% is because we have to "give them hope" as Mechie likes to say often..see what I did there?

You ready for my secret to winning on every map? You sure you're ready? I don't think you are ready. Okay here it is.....

I use the same exact build on every map. WWHHHATTTT? Yeah.

Heights, Divided, City..same build, every run, all the win!

The only thing I change on each map is how I start off artifact wise(due to coin limitation) and what skills I level up. Heights you are going to be able to start off with more skills obviously, Divided/City, you get one skill plus a crap amount of coins. One thing you will see here is that unlike most people I don't use Vials/Nil Cloak/Recommended stuff like that. I go straight for the good stuff. Do I have a better chance of not lasting as long before needing to base? Yes, but I will have more coins in my pocket when I go back than others. Plus maybe an extra kill or assist as well.

    (Intermission)

Artifacts - Depending on what map you play on will determine which artifacts you start with..So I won't go into too much detail here, I will explain the Artifacts necessary for each map on the map portion. I will tell you which artifacts we will look at though...
Olympus Gambit, Ruby of Life, Entropy Aegis, Booster Gold's Power Suit..these are the for sure artifacts that you will want.
Optional ones include The Starheat, Fatality's Energy Lance, Atlantean Royal Seal, Cosmic Belt, The Book of Eternity, Cosmic Staff.
Hawkman's Harness is just there for that extra health at the beginning which you will get rid of later.

Okay kids, now time for the fun part, map discussion and gameplay! If you noticed the thing in the artifact section you will see a pattern..this isn't your typical tank build. I have another secret, I don't build for armor. If your opponent team is pure AD, don't build armor. If your opponent team is pure PD, don't build armor. If your opponent team is PD/AD mix, DO NOT waste your time trying to build armor. Why? Armor caps! If I am not mistaken it caps at 70%. You know what doesn't cap, ever? Health! Health will never cap on you no matter how much you stack onto yourself. You know what Atomic Axe does? You know what Book of Eternity does? They Penetrate. You know what they penetrate? Armor! You know what will take them five hours to get down? Health! Health is your best friend. I will go into detail now..

Gotham Heights - We will start with GH just because that is what I have the abilities set to. The reason we have Lancelot at 2 upgrades and Wall-E is because Lancelot is that for sure hit. Don't bother upgrading W yet because you may just miss that first hit, and you can't afford that with the battle up top for Wayne Tower. Ensure yourself more damage than a coin-toss shot with W.
Olympus Gambit/Hawkman's Harness are your starting artifacts for this map. Just for that extra little health from Harness that you will refund later for Ruby of Life. Just play the map cool. Be a tank, have fun. Toss some walls around, poke some people with your Lance. However, always make sure you have 1 or 2 allies with you. You aren't a tank god yet. You won't be doing any damage right now.
After awhile the coins will start to roll in, if you are playing smart and not dying; it's okay to run if you are low on health. It's called tactical retreat.
You will max Harness very fast, usually after the Wayne Tower fight, if you win. Once you max it, Salvage it even faster. Spend the coins on 1 upgrade of Ruby of Life and 1 upgrade of Entropy Aegis. By this point you will notice you might be having a few will problems..this will help.
Keep leveling Entropy and Ruby until they are maxed. Don't worry about Olympus or buying new artifacts, get these up first. Just because Ruby gives you the most health at 325, and Entropy adds onto that with another 200 plus you have will, and a little bit of armor AND a really awesome toggle skill block which actually goes off more than cooldown it says it has.
Got those two maxed? Awesome! Now let's hoard our coins for a bit, roughly around 2500-3000 before basing. You should be able to live long enough to accumulate that much. We are only basing because we are bored. Now get the next artifact..Booster Gold's Power Suit. Normally I would advise against this in GH since you won't see turrets as much as you would in the other two maps but that extra health is nice, and if you lose Mid it would be nice to solo take a turret or two back. So go ahead and bump that bad boy up to tier 2 or even 3 if you can. Once that is maxed you can max out Olympus whenever. I usually forgot to max him until the end, oops.
With these 4 maxed you should never die the rest of the match, unless they other team realizes you need a death or two and decide to 5v1 you. In that case good luck......to them! Because to tell you the truth, you should last long enough for your team to get to you.
Now for the optionals. These really all depend on how the match is going for you personally. If you feel they are targeting you more than others, go with more health. Personally if I feel the need to survive more I make my last two options simple..Atlantean Royal Seal for the extra stack of 300hp plus PD, and Cosmic Belt for 200 more health and PD+PDPen. So now you are surviving 500hp longer but also they are losing more health as well. That cocky Green Arrow may be taking your health down but what he doesn't notice is his health(which isn't nearly as much) is going down fast too..check mate!
Oh, you aren't dying enough and don't need extra health? Problem solved..stack that PD baby! ME, I like to go balls to the wall when getting PD. Starheart and Book of Eternity are my go to killers. People don't expect that type of damage coming from a Mechie. So when you walk up to them and Lance them right in the face and half their squishy little health bar is gone they freak out and bow to you.
Basically the key to mastering the match after the first 4 artifacts are finished is to figure out what you need more of, quite simple. More health or PD. There really isn't much more to it than this. Just level the artifacts correctly and the skills in the right order and you are golden, PonyBoy.

As for skill usage in situations here is your best tactic..
While fighting you will almost always have the upper hand 1v1 or even 2v1..they will eventually run when they realize you take down their health faster. When they run it is quite easy to fix. Place a wall in their path, pop your ult and W at the same time then lance them. While the ult is taking care of them easily you will be able to focus on using your lance and W at the right spots at the right time, for example popping a W on the other side of the wall for when it goes doesn they run straight into it. Never place a W ontop of them when chasing, always place it a few feet ahead, in order to give it time to pop up right as they go over it. Just learn to pop skills at right times and you will win. It is all about timing.

Now for Gotham Divided/Coastal City - Everything that was just stated above is the exact same for this map except what you start with. Artifact wise you won't touch Harness, only Olympus Gambit. Maybe even Ruby of Life, I can't remember how much 750 allows you to get. Start with Lance as well. Scare them of being in your lane. Follow the same guide for this map and you are good!

Stolen Powers - Doomsday Invulnerability, ArcGL Heal

Amplifier Set - Do whatever you want to do when it comes to this. One last secret..I use the default. It does wonders.

Only difference between the maps is that you will upgrade a lot of faster in GH than you will in the other two. So go off into GD AI for a bit and test this all out, see what you like, what you don't like. I always enjoy feedback, this is my first guide and I was hesitant about making it. But I'm sure someone out there could use a guide and hopefully this is the one to do it for them!

Good luck all you Mechies, go out and Lance face and Wall Squishies! If you have any questions or would like to give me feedback you can always look me up on game @Tramon

    Thanks and love you all!
