Intro

Nightmare Superman is currently considered one of the best controllers in Infinite Crisis. His shielding utility and disruptive CC in team fights and the early game causes many issues for the opposing team.

Augments

Holt Holdings Augment [Samurai] +.39 Power Armor/level, +2.52 Move Speed
Wayne Enterprises Augment [Castle] +24.06 Health, 3.25 Attack Armor.
Wayne Enterprises Augment [Beasts] +3.01 Health/Level, +0.32 Attack Armor/level
Hold Holdings Augment [Earthquake] +20.05 Health, +2.52 Move Speed

Stolen Powers

Arcane Green Lantern's Healing Wave - Heal yourself and nearby allies for 40 Health. Further Healing Waves within 30 seconds will have their effectiveness reduced by 50%. You and nearby allies also gain 10 Power Armor and Attack Armor for 3 seconds.

Cyborg’s Teleport - Teleport to an allied drone, tower, or camera after channeling for 2 seconds.

Green Arrow’s Surveillance Camera - You gain charges that are spent to place Stealthed Surveillance Cameras that grant vision in an area around them and can see through Stealth for a few seconds. A limited number of Surveillance Cameras may be on the battlefield at once. Charges are refilled automatically upon returning to base.

If you are playing Nightmare Superman as a controller, it is always important to take cameras, specifically, Green Arrow Cameras. They allow you to deward and ward so it gets rid of other teams vision and allows you to see incoming ganks and or rotations.

Optional Stolen Powers - You can choose either Arcane Green Lantern’s Healing Wave or Cyborg’s Teleport; it all depends on preference. I prefer to run Cyborg’s Teleport when I want to be active around the map and gank using Nightmare Superman’s ultimate. Arcane Green Lantern’s Healing Wave is good because it gives you and your carry sustainability in the early game, and in the late game, it is an overall great pick.

Skills

(Q) Phantom Collector - Nightmare Superman summons a phantom at a target location that flies to him, dealing 50 Power Damage and stealing 4.0 Power Armor for 5 seconds from enemy Champions. Upon returning to Nightmare Superman, all nearby allied Champions gain 2.0 Power Armor for each enemy Champion hit for 5 seconds.
• This skill is good if you have other Power Damage champions. This skill is usually maxed last as it does not bring in much CC or help in team fights. Having one point into the skill early helps because it allows you to poke.
(W) Vortex - Nightmare Superman opens a vortex that reduces the Move Speed of all enemies within the area by 25% (+1% per 100 Bonus Will). After 3 seconds, the vortex closes, dealing 75 Power Damage, pulling all enemies in an area 250 meters in the direction of the center, and Stunning them for 0.25 seconds. After 0.5 seconds, Nightmare Superman can activate the skill a second time, forcing the vortex to close early and dealing 25 to 75 Power Damage, depending on how long the vortex has been open.
• This is possibly one of the best support skills. Vortex does deals great damage, allows you to peel, initiates team fights, and makes sure enemies cannot run away. You would most likely max this skill second.
(E) Siphon-Infuse - Siphon (Enemy Champion): Deal 50 Power Damage and then grant a Shield that blocks 25 damage for 3 seconds to two allied Champions near the target. Infuse (Allied Champion): Grant a Shield that blocks 50 damage for 3 seconds and then deal 25 Power Damage to up to two enemies near the target.
• This skill is maxed first on Nightmare Superman. It allows for you and your lane partner to be aggressive, while shielding your allies. It both shields your teammate and inflicts damage to the enemy team, which makes it a great spell. I like to max this skill because the shield becomes very strong early allowing for your team to play aggressive and it allows you to safely poke.
(R) Condemn - Nightmare Superman traps an enemy Champion in a Phantom Zone prison. For 1.5 seconds, the target cannot move or use skills. On expiration, the prison explodes, reducing the Move Speed of nearby enemies by 50% (+1% per 100 Bonus Will) for 2 seconds.
• Nightmare Superman’s ultimate is by far his greatest skill. This skill allows for lots of crowd control in team fights. It allows you peel for your teammates and find roaming pick offs. It should be used wisely to either get kills or save teammates.
(Passive) Possession - Upon being defeated, Nightmare Superman possesses the enemy Champion that defeated him, Revealing them and reducing their Power Armor and Attack Armor by 15 for 6 seconds. If the target is defeated while Possession is active, Nightmare Superman is revived with 30% (+1% per 150 Bonus Will) of the target's Max Health. Nightmare Superman is not defeated until Possession expires.
• Nightmare Superman’s passive makes him able to be the initiator. If you die at the beginning of an initiation, you still have a chance to come back into the team fight if they can kill on the person that has killed you. Players also need to be aware as they might not expect to be revived in the middle of a fight they had already died in. This is a good skill, but you should normally level this skill last as it’s more valuable in the later game.
Skill Order

The reason I get Vortex at level 1 is because of its utility to push enemies away if you get ganked early or to pull enemies in when you gank. After getting 1 skill point into Vortex, you should then start to max your Siphon-Infuse. You want to max this skill is because of the great scaling of the shield and damage throughout the game, especially when it’s maxed. This allows you to keep your teammates alive longer and to inflict damage on the enemies at the same time. You should put 1 level into your Phantom Collector early on because it gives you some poke ability and can reduce Power Armor, allowing for your team to pick them off. Your Condemn should also be maxed whenever it is able to be skilled up. Condemn brings a lot of control in team fights. It helps your team by suppressing a champion, which potentially can save your teammate or get a kill. Combining Condemn with roaming can allow for easy kills. This spell works well with Speed Force Battery and Amulet of Isis. I will talk about why these artifacts are good on Nightmare Superman and how to use them efficiently.

Artifacts

Starting artifacts
• Qward Gambit, Tektite Vials, Health Vials
Qward Gambit, up to level 2, is a good artifact with the Altered mod. This allows for you to get artifacts quicker and it also gives you sustained will and extra damage for your spells, especially for the shield on Siphon-Infuse. Vials are necessary in duo lanes because you are constantly exchanging, so this allows you to stay in lane longer.

Core artifacts
• Speed Force Battery, Amulet of Isis, Eye of Ekron, Entropy Aegis, Gorilla Grodd’s Helmet
Speed Force Battery is one of the best artifacts on Nightmare Superman because it allows Nightmare Superman to roam around the map, especially for ganks when Condemn is up. It also allows you to get to the back line much quicker and gives the enemy less time to react. The Enhanced mod gives Move Speed, which allows for faster positioning.

Amulet of Isis with the Empowered mod is a very strong artifact because it allows your team to either initiate a fight or disengage from a unfavorable team fight.

Eye of Ekron is works well on Night Superman because it gives him extra damage, increased Will, a stronger shield, and extra Move Speed Move Speed is not looked at by many players as a "necessary stat", but for a controller it may be one of the best stats because it allows you to roam to gank and assist teammates more efficiently.

Entropy Aegis works wonders as it gives extra Will, Power Armor, and Health along with its strong Skill Block passive.

Gorilla Grodd’s Helmet is a great controller artifact overall because it gives your allies 15% resilience and a shield.

You can build these items in any order, but try to get either Amulet of Isis or Speed Force Battery fairly early on the give yourself mobility and initiation tools.

Optional artifacts
• Pandora’s Box, Abin Sur’s Lantern, Metallo’s Heart
These artifacts are listed optional because they each empower Nightmare Superman’s utility differently. Pandora’s Box is great if you want to roam around the map to find pickoffs and chase people down. Abin Sur’s Lantern strengthens your shield with its bonus Will. Metallo’s heart gives you tanky attributes by giving you Attack Armor, and it also makes enemy team Attack Damage marksmen attack much slower, which is beneficial for team fights. It also gives bonus Will, which increases the shield on Siphon-infuse.

Mods

Empowered Amulet of Isis - Gives allies 30% Move Speed bonus for 8 seconds.

Enhanced Will Eye of Ekron - Gives 200 Will at tier 3 of artifact.

Altered Qward Gambit - 3 credits per 10 seconds at tier 1, at tier 2; 5 credits per 10 seconds.

The Altered Qward Gambit is a great first artifact giving you Will and Power Damage, and also with the mod, you get an added credit per 10 second bonus, which allows you to keep up with credits. This is a great artifact overall because it is fairly cheap in the early game and you get a good amount of Will and Power Damage allowing you to poke in lane more efficiently.

The Empowered Amulet of Isis mod is taken because it is an overall great controller artifact. It allows your team to quickly engage or flee from a team fight with enhanced mobility and positioning. This Amulet of Isis is also great for Nightmare Superman himself because he needs Move Speed to possibly roam around the map and find pickoffs with his ultimate.

The Enhanced Eye of Ekron mod is used because it is a great artifact giving you good Will, Power Damage and Move Speed, which is always great for positioning and moving around the map. The added Will allows for Nightmare Superman’s Siphon-Infuse to shield for a greater amount.

How/When to Rotate

Generally for any controller champion, you want to roam the map when your lane is pushed and you know cameras aren’t up for the enemy team. This takes coordination and communication to ask your teammates where enemy cams are and where you can possibly rotate through to create a successful gank. Dewarding in your lane is also very important because it helps your jungler gank the lane more easily. Make sure to always buy cameras because vision is very important and it’s an important role of a controller. Having no vision allows for easy ganks and rotations for the enemy team.
