  • Infinite Crisis has shut down.

With its departure, Dawnbase will be going into permanent read-only mode and will remain as both an archive of information about Infinite Crisis, and a reminder of the times we all had with the game.

Hats off to you all. It was a pleasure, ladies and gentlemen.

    General Introduction

Gaslight Catwoman is an amazing ability-based assassin with great tools to stick to her targets and to kill squishy champions before they even realize she is there. She can get in, deal tons of damage and then get out as no one else can.

    Abilities

Sharpened claws is her passive and adds a lot of extra damage over time to her autoattacks. It is a good passive, but not a very important part of her kit. In most cases, during the 5 seconds that your target is bleeding you should have killed him twice already. It is great, however, to see enemies with a sliver of health fleeing away and getting the kill anyway after a few seconds.  A good thing is your shred applies the effect.

Your Q, Steampowered Claws, is your main damaging ability early game. It has moderate range, decent scaling with levels and good scaling with attack damage. You can use it to poke before going all-in, for example if you are defending a point all by yourself. Don’t be very predictable with its use as it is easily avoidable if you just walk to your enemy and throw it.

Your W, Shred, is an important part of your kit. It acts like an autoattack (applies Hit effets including your passive) but has a bigger range and more damage, especially with targets below 50% health.  The base damage does not scale very well with levels, but the extra damage to targets with low health and the cooldown at max level are ridiculous and make you a beast against low health targets.

Your E, Blood Hunt, is my favorite ability in GasCat’s kit. It allows you to be slippery as few others can. You can use it both offensively and defensively depending on the situation. Two and a half seconds of stealth allows you to cover a considerable amount of ground, more so with the extra movement speed you can get with low-health targets. The extra damage is nice, but not the important part of this ability. The skill has a pretty long cooldown so be careful when using it.

You can use it to engage: you see a lone squishy target with full health, you approach him and when you are in vision radius you pop your E and probably will get to him before him even realizes. Then you can start your death combo and he will be annihilated without time to react.

You can use it when dueling other heroes, it will be 2.5 seconds of you not being targetable and during this time your passive will be doing damage and your cooldowns will refresh. Probably after the stealth, your W will be up and your target will be below 50% so: extra damage after stealth + extra damage from your W = dead enemy for sure.

You can use it to run away from enemies after a skirmish that went bad for you. You will probably want to wait until there is an enemy below 50% health to get the extra movement speed.

You can use it to reposition yourself during teamfights. Is the enemy marksman about to run away with 10% health? Pop your Blood Hunt and crush him. Are you being focused after killing a squishy enemy? Pop your Blood Hunt and get closer to your teammates.

I guess you get the point, this skill allows you to do some serious plays if used correctly. Be careful, however, of enemies being able to see trough stealth. GasBat’s W, Superman’s E or AWW’s R are examples of skills that will reveal you, as well as the stolen power X-Ray vision.

Your R, Predator’s Grace, is what makes the kit in GasCat possible and so deadly many times. The base damage and scaling are great, and the reset mechanic is just amazing. You usually will want to use it after your Q but often times it won’t be possible. In those cases, don’t worry that much as the cooldown is not as punishing as other ultimates. Be careful of doing your Q-R combo too fast, because the mark has to be applied first (i.e. the Q has to reach the target first) or you will get your R on cooldown.

    Ability leveling order

You have to level up your ultimate every chance you get, as it has great damage and it is an amazing skill.

You will be maxing your Q as is your most reliable source of damage early game, and at level 6 you want your Q+R combo to chunk your opponent's health. As I said, has good damage, good scaling, acceptable cooldwon, is multi-target and is ranged.

The second skill you should max is your W, although has poor damage scaling (the% health is good though), the cooldown is heavily reduced each level and it is important to be able to use it several times in the small skirmishes that take place mid-game.

Then you will max your passive as it scales really well with levels. I guess some of you can argue about maxing this second instead of your W. I don't say it is a bad option, but I think that mid game is the time for assassins to shine and as one of the best ones you want to 100-0 your targets in the shorter time possible. Your passive adds a lot of damage but, and it's a big but for an assassin, over 5 seconds. If you find yourself fighting tankier targets or in the middle of sustained fights, you can max the passive over your W.

The last skill to max will be your E. The damage portion of it is partially negligible and only the cooldown gets really shorter with levels. At this point you will have built several CDR items that will make the use more manageable.

    Items

As an assassin you should focus on doing damage with your skills rather than with your autoattacks. That means: it's not worthy to build attack speed. You will want to buy basically attack damage, attack penetration and cooldown reduction. That is why your core items are Coda Blade (4), [[Deathstroke's Claymore(3)]] and [[Rip Hunter's Time Pack (4)]] as they provide everything you want, as well as a couple of actives really powerful and a passive very good for dueling champions with sustain.

Your job is to kill squishies, but if you are having trouble getting to them and often fight tankier champions you will have to buy Atomic Axe (2) to destroy them. This is an item that usually you will buy, the situation will dictate if you do it early or late in the game.

Soultaker Katana (4) is an expensive item that gives you a lot of attack damage (which is good) and lifesteal (which is not needed in assassins). However, it can be useful in some situations where the fights last for long.

Sword Of Beowulf (3) is great agains fed blasters. The stats and the shield it provides can be really decisive in fights.

Claw Of Horus (3) will give you a mix of good offensive and defensive stats agains attack damage.

[[Lobo's Chain (3)]] gives you attack damage, a good amount of health and a passive to stick to targets. With your kit you will rarely need this passive, but you can consider it in some ocasions.

Entropy Aegis (3) can be considered if the enemy has a great form of initiation that is making your life miserable.

[[Ra's al Ghul's Robe (2) ]] is a good option if you always die after getting a kill on an enemy and you think you could make a big impact on the teamfight after that. If you die in a situation where your team takes a big advantage it is totally worth it.

    Amplifiers

This section is still under construction because I have to further experiment with them. I can't say the ones that I have chosen are the best ones, but definitely they give you things you would want on GasCat.

    Stolen Powers

My choices are [[Doomsday's Invulnerability]] and [[Flash's Super Speed]]. The first one because can give you some extra survivability in pesky situations. For example, where you would die but your E is on a 1 second cooldown. Or to duel some other champion with similar power than you. And the extra speed really sinergizes well with your goal: to hunt vulnerable preys. Combined with the extra movement speed of your E it can cover some serious distance in a short time. That squishy with 20% health that thinks is safe from you and starts recalling. On the contray, if you are running away with your E, that extra movement speed can save your life.

You can consider [[Poison Ivy's Healing Wave]] for more team utility and a boost of Power in a dueling situation.

    About this guide

First of all, this is a guide based on my experience basically on Gotham Heights. I have not tried it often in other maps, but I guess the general information is useful anyway. I am not the most experienced player in Infinite Crisis, since I have been playing only for some months. This is just my intention to share with the newer players or less experienced with Gaslight Catwoman my thoughts about her, since she is my favorite champion in the game.

You can ask questions or post your opinions and they will be more than welcome. I guess I can learn a lot from the community but unfortunately all the guides for Gaslight Catwoman are very out of date.

Lastly, English is not my first language so I want to apologize if you find mistakes in the text. You can point me out those mistakes and I will try my best to fix them.

I hope you enjoy the guide!
