  • Infinite Crisis has shut down.

With its departure, Dawnbase will be going into permanent read-only mode and will remain as both an archive of information about Infinite Crisis, and a reminder of the times we all had with the game.

Hats off to you all. It was a pleasure, ladies and gentlemen.

Why Green Latern on Coast City?: For teamfights, Green Lantern is up there in effectiveness with Joker and Star Sapphire. You can both setup and finish off a wombo combo with a good amount of CC and damage. If you can avoid dying to camping junglers early, your natural will sustain, and combo damage will lead to an easy win in lane. Besides, it is his home turf. He gets a 10% boost in effectiveness because of the home field buff.

I've been playing Green Lantern Prime a lot lately. He has a lot burst damage, an ult that is amazing for team fights and has will scaling that allows you to maximize damage and will sustain. Sadly, he has slightly less range than he used to, still has no escape, and has a slow early game no matter how well you play him.

Mods: Because of the Pen changes in the March patch, I think Energy Lance is a must on GL now. I would mod the extra PD on it for the huge early game power spike it will give you. The Logoz and Eye of Ekron mods will help you get the most out of Green Lantern's need for will to do max damage.

Build Path: Start Nil Ring for the early boost to stats at level 1 along with 2 health will pots. Build T3 Energy Lance next before investing into Eye of Ekron. Take this to T3 and then try to cap Logoz as soon as possible. You then cap Eye of Ekron. The Eye of Ekron and Logoz will give you a +106 PD boost with Logoz unstacked. You now get Starheart to maximize your damage output.

Once capping Starheart, many times this is where you need to pick up Eclypso's Diamond or a defensive item of your choices. After you decide that for yourself, determine if you need Book of Eternity. This is really simple. Are they stacking power armor? If it's a yes, grab it.

A final solid item is always Neron's if you have a decent team around you. Turn on Neron's when you are getting focused hard, and let the team do the rest. If you grabbed Book of Eternity, sell your Ring to get this item. If your team still need your high damage output, and the enemy does not focus you hard/yoru team is great with peal, you can look into Steele's Breastplate. Iron Will is another way you can stay alive through many fights.

Playstyle: Don't overextend early. I don't know a knowledgable jungler in this game that would not love to jump you early in the game. Cams are a must to stay safe when you have no escape. Trade from the greatest distance possible, and remember your passive (that huge green fist) does a lot of damage. Use that to help poke especially very early. The best GL combos are E W E E Q and W E E E Q.

In teamfights stand back from the frontline and just decimate the first squishy that tried to break through. Using your ult to interupt your enemies is also a great way to go about a team fight. During clean up remember to use your W so your team can take them out.

Even reading through this I feel like I missed a point or two, but I wanted to put a guide out there for a great Green Lantern build along with the general playstyle rules. I've had a lot fo success with him on GD of late, and once you learn to work around what seems to be major disadvantages, you'll see how strong he really is.

As always, I hope you enjoyed the guide. This was put on the back burner a little while back because of how little time I have to experimet lately. To all those people who didn't cease asking me how to play Green Lantern successfully, I have finally posted your guide. Also, remember to use the rating system. If you like something, give it a thumbs up, and if you don't you know how to show the world. And remember to respond with questions and comments. I make these for you so it is always nice to hear back from the community at large.
