  • Infinite Crisis has shut down.

With its departure, Dawnbase will be going into permanent read-only mode and will remain as both an archive of information about Infinite Crisis, and a reminder of the times we all had with the game.

Hats off to you all. It was a pleasure, ladies and gentlemen.

The name of the guide is a bit misleading, as Flash plays more like a Bruiser than an Enforcer with this build, but I just like the sound of Tank Flash. This guide focuses on making Flash more durable as opposed to making him a burst Champ. It seems counter-intuitive to build him this way, but with the huge hit he took to his early game, it works out quite well. I haven't tested this particular build out on CC, so I can't say that it will work there, but I suspect that it will ease Flash's early game jungle problems at least to some degree.

    Mods:

    - 105 Health Atlantean Seal
    - +22 PD Dreamstone
    - $250 Credits off Cosmic

The build starts out with Nil Ring, Dreamstone level 1, and Cosmic Staff level 1. I typically purchase Atlantean first, and will usually buy it to level 3. Remember, this build is more about early-game survival and harass than being a glass cannon.

From there, I grab Cosmic at max level to get the full HP benefit.

Depending on my Will usage issues, I will build Dreamstone to level 2 between building Cosmic and Seal. I do the same for level 3 if needed. Regardless, I get Dreamstone to level 3 immediately after Cosmic and Seal if they are built first.

At this point, I get the Amulet of Isis, both for the additional HP and the CD Reduction. I typically only go to level 2, unless I really feel that I need that speed active. This build tends to be more reactive than a typical Flash burst build where you just max PD and CD Reduc, so just keep that in mind as you build.

The fifth item up for grabs is debatable. At this point, you have a solid stash of HP and are dealing respectable damage. So if you don't need serious Attack Armor, then getting Starheart at this point is probably the better choice. However, if you are having issues with Batman or some other tough AD Champ, then the Helm is better. Again, choose accordingly to the specific situation.

To summarize, start with the first three items and build them all to at least 3. Get more HP with Isis. Add PD with Starheart. Add Attack Armor and PD with Helm. Max the items as you see fit. The build is more or less well played in the order I have it presented, but again Flash Tank is a bit more reactive (much like Bruisers are) and you should check your opponent's builds and counter-build whenever possible. And one last thing: if you have the gold to max Dreamstone early (or before you get Isis) it isn't a bad idea as you get a substantial boost in CD Reduc, PD, Will Regen, and Power Armor.

Just remember that you aren't Batman, you are simply tougher to kill. Play Flash like Flash and you should have success with this build.
