Hey guys, its me again! This time i'm making a
Green Arrow AKA Ollie guide, hope you enjoy it!
First, why play with Oliver Queen?
PROS:
- Very fun and strong kit
- Ult is a free and variable poke
- Nice mobility for both running away and getting a kill
- Can really annoy/destroy enemy marksman
- He's swag | CONS:
- Easy to predict his ult coming
- C.C kinda destroys him
- Become mana hungry if skills are spammed |
ABILITIES

This just makes him a nice duelist,. This passive combined with items like
Shade's Cane (3),
Huntress' Crossbow (3) and
Claw Of Horus (3) wins almost any trade.

Classic gap close/get away, but
must be used wisely, or you could end killing yourself. Anyway, its great for kiting, great for chasing, and great for getting away of trouble. Also, when
active, you gain move speed.

When facing any tank or bruiser, keep this skill active, so your basic atk will have
Atk Penetration. It also do a good damage.

Here's the deal. Your combo should be E > basic atk > Ult > W > basic atk > Q back to get away, or, if you are chasing, Q towards your opponent > basic atk > repeat everything. In lane, you should use this to bully your opponents. It's really annoying for them, trust me. E > basic atk > Ult.

This is your poke, and your fun skill. It's damage or effect depends on which stance is active at the moment. If your Q is active, it will
slow the target. If your W is active, it will be a
piercing arrow. If your E is active, it will leave a
bomb on the target. If the target already had a bomb, it will explode and a new bomb will be set.
I really like to max
Thermite Arrows first, cause its damage is high, and it really annoys the enemy champions.
ITEM PURCHASES
Well, all your skills scales with
Atk Damage, and your basic attacks hurts. For
first items, i go
Nil Weapon and
Modular Health Vial (3), cause it will give you a great sustain, and a good early stats.
Then, you focus on your
core items:
Coda Blade (4) and
Shade's Cane (3).
Attack damage and
attack pen are self explanatory. The passive on
Coda Blade (4) is a nice way of removing any sustain from your target, and come on, you are a caster, and you are a marksman, with
Shade's Cane (3) you will gain
attack damage and
attack speed for every basic attack and skill that you use. Your trades will be insane with this item.
Now, for
offensive items, i
REALLY recommend
Huntress' Crossbow (3), your basic attacks will do crazy damage with this.
Joe Chill's Revolver (3) will also make you do a lot of damage, and you will have a
crit chance now. < This combined with
Velocity 9 Implants (4) will give you both a nice
mobility, nice kiting, and you will have 50%
crit chance. Half of your attacks can
crit.
Soultaker Katana (4) is a nice item too as it gives you
attack damage and
lifesteal. I
think sustain is a must in marksmen, but if it's late game, you don't have time to farm, or you are being bursted frequently,
Cheetah's Claw (4) should do it instead of
Soultaker Katana (4).
When their bruiser/tank isn't taking much damage even with all your
amor pen, consider buying a
Claw Of Horus (3), as it will
steal armor from the target with each basic attack for a max of 5 stacks (or 15 armor).
Some
defensive items you could do are
Entropy Aegis (3) (if they have much C.C or someone is using a skill to initiate on you, like
Doomsday Charge or
Zatanna Be a Rabbit), and
Ra's al Ghul's Robe (2) (if they have that damn assassin that enters the field, kill you and then leaves the field).
The only
situational item i could think of is
Lobo's Chain (4). When even with your Q, slow, move speed and all of this, isn't doing its job (kiting, chasing), the slow from it should solve your problems.
STOLEN POWERS
Here, i like
Hawkgirl's Super Speed, cause you only have one escape, and it's not that good. This won't only benefit your escapes, but your chases will almost always be successful, and your kiting will be a lot more effective.
Krypto's Healing Wave is nice for saving your ass, and your support. But, if your support has a good escape, is a bruiser, or have it's own sustain skills, you could consider
Doomsday's Invulnerability instead.
MODS & AUGMENTS
Basically, you want more
atk damage here, so both your basic atk and your skills will do more damage. The best
modifiers i could think of for this build, are:

These will provide you more damage. And that's all you want. But, if you like more
crit damage, you could go for

as well.
And, for
augments , more
atk damage!
